AISEE

AISEE (All India Scholarship Entrance Examination) is a national level merit-based scholarship entrance examination for Engineering and Medical Studies candidates in India.
Through this program, AISEE has fueled the dreams of more than 2 lakh meritorious engineering and medical students of India since its initiation.

This program provides good benefits for higher education to those students who wish to get financial help in their higher studies.

The exam conducting board is registered with the Ministry of Finance act 1994 under the central excise department of India. The aim of the AISEE scholarship is to provide financial assistance to meritorious engineering and medical students through the AISEE examinations.

AISEE has launched two scholarship programs-
1. AISEE 2020 Scholarship for medical and Engineering.
2. AISEE-2020 Open Book Scholarship for medical and engineering aspirants.

The AISEE exam will be usually conducted in April and May. The examination will be conducted all across India and the exam will be conducted in Online mode (Computer Based Test) only. Based on the candidate score in the AISEE examination, the scholarship will be rewarded to the respective students.

KVPY

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a program launched in 1999 under Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India(GOI) to encourage applicants who are studying Basic Sciences to take up research career in Science. The main motive of the program is to recognise and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue a career in research.

This program’s objective is to assist the students in understanding their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is brushed up for research and development in the country. Generous fellowship and contingency grant are provided to the selected KVPY.

The Department of Science and Technology, the nodal agency of the Government has entrusted the overall responsibility for organizing and running the KVPY Program to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and set up a Management Committee and a National Advisory Committee (NAC) for overseeing its implementation. A core committee looks after both the day-to-day and academic aspects of the KVPY Program.

TATA Innovation Scholarship

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) initiated the Tata Innovation Fellowship in 2007 to encourage innovation in science, in finding effective solutions to major challenges in modern Biology/Biotechnology. The emphasis of the scheme is to identify and reward scientists with an outstanding track record in biological sciences/ biotechnology and commitment to finding innovative solutions in healthcare, agriculture, environment, conservation of natural resources, livestock production manufacturing process etc. Up to 5 scholarships are given every year.

Applications are invited through advertisement each year and qualified students are selected by Selection Committee constituted by the Department. The students receive a fellowship amount of INR 25,000/- per month in addition to regular salary and a contingency grant of Rs. 6 lakhs per annum. The duration of the scholarship is initially for 3 years which can be extended further by another two years on a fresh appraisal.

The amount of the fellowship is INR 25,000/- per month in addition to regular salary from the host institute. If a candidate is receiving a salary from an international organization, he/she will be entitled to research grant i.e. contingency only.

NEST

National Entrance Screening Test(NEST) is a compulsory test for students seeking admission to National Institutes by the Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai. Their main aim is to train scientific manpower for carrying out cutting edge scientific research and come up with input to scientific programmes of Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country. NEST 2020 will be conducted in around 90 cities all over India.

Candidates must qualify all four eligibility criteria listed below:

  • Candidates in the OBC and General category should be born on or after 01, August 2000. The age limit relaxation is given by 5 years for SC/ ST/ Divyangjan candidates.
  • The class 12th qualifying examination should be passed in either 2018 or 2019. Candidates appearing in 2020 are also eligible.
  • At least 60% marks in aggregate in Class 12 (or equivalent) examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Divyangjan candidates, the minimum marks is 55%.

PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Sigle Girl Child

The objectives of the proposed scheme are to support postgraduate education of single girl child in postgraduate courses only, to recognize the value of observance of the small family norm.
Any single girl child who happens to be an only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter in the family, if one son and one daughter are available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year Master’s Degree course in any recognized university or a post-graduate college.
This scholarship is available to PG-I year student only. Admission to PG Course in distance education mode is not covered under the scheme. Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible. The number of slots available is 3000.

The amount of scholarship awarded to students is Rs.36,200/-p.a. for a period of two years only i.e. full duration of a PG course.

This scheme will be implemented and monitored by the UGC. The qualified students of previous years will continue to follow the pattern of assistance through UGC/Canara Bank portal.
